Hameeda Lakho - Verborgen Tralies

Last week I read a shocking book, Verborgen Tralies. I don't think it has been translated into English yet. It's the true story of a Pakistan girl, who moves to the Netherlands with her mother and sisters to live with her father. Her father is also from Pakistan, but he moved to the Netherlands for a better job and a better future. The girls can't remember their father and are reunited for the first time in a lot of years. But the reunion isn't like they expected it to be...

I don't want to spoil about what happens. I usually don't like reading true stories, I'm more a fan of books based on true stories. Nevertheless this is a story that must be told. I am shocked that such a thing can seriously happen in my country. I'm not going to tell you what happens in the book, just read it yourself.

A child deserves to be a child..
