Blogoversary #1

Exactly one year ago I decided to change my blog. I changed the subjects, the layout and the language. A fresh start. And it was a great decision! My blog feels more like some sort of home on which I can talk about everything that keeps me busy, everything I like and everything that my thoughts ramble about. It’s my personal spot on the internet and I love it! Hooray for my blog which turned one today!

An overview of the past year:

October 2009
I stumbled upon lots and lots of inspirational websites. My database filled with awesome stuff kept growing and growing, resulting in blogs with quotes, inspiring shorts and my own projects, like Wordless Wednesday. I decided to start writing about music more often and introduced Music in the Spotlight.

November 2009
In this month I started another project: Grace in Small Things. I don’t know what happened, but this project bled to death. Time for a restart in this next blogyear! I also found an amazing short, which is the post of the month November.
Post of the month: An Eye For Annai

December 2009
December was a month filled with posts about Saint Nicholas Day, Christmas and New Years Eve. I also introduced my own photography to my blog. This month also included shooting stars and a post in Dutch.
Post of the month: Goodbye 2009

January 2010
A new year, a fresh start. Not on my blog, but in my life. January was a tough month full of changes, but in retrospect it was all necessary. On the 1st of January I started my Day Zero Project. It didn’t last long, because I didn’t set the right goals. I am busy in transforming the list so I can start over. I introduced a new project: notes from the universe. I wanted to share the daily happiness and inspiration I found in my mail box every weekday. In January I decided to choose a word of the year 2010: Growth. This has inspired me ever since. I keep on growing and growing and growing.

February 2010
February was a month of polaroid dreams, a serious writer’s block, so you think you can dance inspiration and an amazing a capella version of Toto’s song Africa.
Post of the month: A Capella

March 2010
This month changed my life. A very special someone entered my life and turned it upside down. And of course March was the introduction of Spring. I also blogged about subliminal stimuli in Disney movies and an impressive video about our generation, the lost generation.
Post of the month: Lost Generation

April 2010
In April I reached my first milestone: 100 blog posts! In the same month I blogged about literal video’s, a lot of music and concerts, how boys should treat girls, yellow sticky notes and my always rambling thoughts. The latter was a quite personal post, which I loved to write.
Post of the month: Rambling Thoughts

May 2010
May was quite a silent month on my blog. I was one lots of trips and very busy, so I kind of neglected my blog. It did feature a post with a great video made of 2096 photograph stills and a psychological post about selective attention and temptation.
Post of the month: Selective Attention and Temptation

June 2010
This month was filled with my own photography, a beautiful gift from Ingrid, lots of music and art and a blog about exploring the world. I bought an analogue camera, which I truly love. Note to self: develop the first film from this camera!!
Post of the month: Explorer of the World

July 2010
I spend about five days in July at my own house. The rest of the days were filled with trips and of course my long vacation. The result was an empty and silent blog. I did blog about the beautiful woman Amélie Poulain. I was in Paris that month, so I loved the movie even more when I watched it again.
Post of the month: Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain

August 2010
I didn’t spend a lot of time at home in August either. I was at Lowlands, at the boyfriend’s house in Delft, on a vacation in Friesland, busy busy busy, but no time for my blog. I did stumble upon some inspiring short movies.
Post of the month: Moments

September 2010
September brought back regular blogging. I was inspired by beautiful music (Maxence Cyrin), viral commercials from lectures at the university, snail mail and a movie that made a huge impression: Cidade de Deus.
Post of the month: Cidade de Deus

October 2010
October has just started, but it's already a steady month when it comes to blogging. This is my 7th blog post in a row. And this month already featured one of my favorite projects ever: the Small Worlds Project.
Post of the month: Small Worlds Project

I really hope you enjoy reading my blog. I will continue to blog about everything that inspires me, including movies, projects, books, music and art. Thank you all for the time you’ve spend on my blog and I hope you will keep visiting and commenting!

P.S. What a coincidence, this is my 175th blog post!
