Vacation 2010

Blog status in August: 0 posts. Zero, nada, none. Shall I give you a little update of the past months?

July
July started with a few relaxing days at home. After that I went to Rock Werchter, which is the largest festival of Belgium. We were there for one day and it was awesome! Spending an entire day listening to bands you love, with people you love, in lovely weather is great!

After Rock Werchter we, that is my best friend and I, drove to the Dordogne in France. We stayed with her parents for about a week and a half. We saw and did a lot of things, we went canoeing on the Dordogne, we walked through a beautiful landscape, we visited a castle, a garden and lots of other things. Was a great start of our trip!

Then our roadtrip really started. We drove to Chinon, a place near the Loire and the Vienna. There was a huge castle which was completed this year. There was a festive opening on the days we were there. That included fireworks, an amazing lightshow and an orchestra. And the next day the entrance to the castle was free!

After Chinon we had an impulsive idea to go to Paris and ask our boyfriends if they could join us. It so happened that everyone was able to come and we could spent about 4 days in the City of Love! Those were some amazing days, I love Paris! I especially love Montmartre, with its little streets and shops that sell beautiful vintage postcards, posters etc. We also visited the Louvre, which was amazing! I have never seen such a huge and beautiful museum.

Our last stop was the Ardennes. Unfortunately we had a lot of rain, so after a few days we decided to go home.

Photos of our trip are on my facebook page (friends-only) and some of them are on flickr.

August
August has so far been a month full of trips! On the start of August I went to Friesland (a province in the Netherlands) with my aunts, mother and sister. It was a lovely trip filled with a lot of coffee on terraces, sailboats and laughter.

After that I went to Delft with the boyfriend. We watched a lot of episodes of How I met Your Mother (best sitcom ever!) and movies, we went to IMAX to see Inception, we went to the beach and even swam in the North Sea, we went shopping and had a whole lot of fun together! On top of that we went to the grand finale of the International Fireworks Festival at Scheveningen. I have never seen such amazing fireworks before. Click here to see the fireworks from the Netherlands.

And there will be another trip in August: next weekend I will be at Lowlands Festival, volunteering for Converse. Whoa, awesome vacation!
